Secured loans explained

Secured loans, are loans secured against your home. Secured finance is ideal if you want to borrow larger amounts of money. Personal loans are usually offered up to £25k but with secured loans you can borrow much more (dependant on equity in your home). Your home is offered as the collateral for the loan, meaning loan providers see you as less of a risk. However your home is at risk if you do not to repay the loan.

How much can I borrow?

Secured loans are available from £5k to £2m, and sometimes more, but very much depends on the equity available in your home. If your property is worth £250k and your mortgage is £100k you’ll have £150k equity available to secure a loan.

How long does it take to get the loan?

We aim to complete your loan in just 2 weeks, and we keep you informed throughout the process. However its largely dependent on making sure you return your paperwork swiftly and completing your home valuation etc. If you are in a hurry for the funds, let us know and we will expedite your application.

Do I qualify for a secured loan?

You will need to be a homeowner and mortgage payer. If you do not have a mortgage currently, we may be able to arrange a small mortgage for you to for fill your loan needs.

Can I borrow more in future?

Yes, If you would like to top up your loan, simply contact us so we can arrange this, subject to status.

Do you credit check me?

We conduct 'soft searches' which do not affect your credit rating in any way. We promise not to leave a footprint on your credit file, but this helps us understand your current credit score. If you complete your loan, it will only then show as a full credit search.
